Silicone Kit for Orthoses

BASIC SILICONE KIT

The Basic Silicone Kit brings together two podiatry silicones with different hardness levels and the Master-Cat Catalyst, providing professionals with the materials required to make different types of orthoses and orthoplasties.

It includes Blanda Blanda Silicone, with a very soft consistency and especially suitable for making palliative, soft and elastic orthoses. It has a hardness of 2-4 Shore A, is easy to work with and can be mixed with other silicones.

It also includes Podiabland Silicone, a soft and elastic silicone with a hardness of 12-15 Shore A, suitable for different types of orthoses and particularly suitable for corrective orthoses, reducing areas of pressure and friction, and making interdigital separators.

The kit is completed with a 60 ml Master-Cat Catalyst, a professional-use paste catalyst intended for the manufacture of foot orthoses from RTV silicones.

It is available in two formats, with 50 g or 200 g silicone containers, to suit the individual needs of each professional.

COMPOSITION:

The silicones are composed of silicone polymer, medical-grade oil, polydimethylsiloxane, coloring agent, strawberry fragrance, antioxidant, hydroxypropylsilane and antibacterial agent.

AVAILABLE MODELS:

• Ref. 10.031.3: Blanda Blanda Silicone 50 g + Podiabland Silicone 50 g + Master-Cat Catalyst 60 ml.
• Ref. 10.031.4: Blanda Blanda Silicone 200 g + Podiabland Silicone 200 g + Master-Cat Catalyst 60 ml.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

• Take the required amount of silicone and add the catalyst.
• Use a ratio of 0.25 g of Master-Cat Catalyst for every 10 g of silicone.
• Knead the silicone and catalyst vigorously until a uniform color is obtained.
• Once mixed, apply immediately to the desired area and hold in place for a few minutes.
• Complete vulcanization is achieved after 24 hours, although the orthosis can be removed, adjusted and provided to the patient after the first few minutes.
• The working time before hardening is approximately 5 minutes.

PRECAUTIONS:

• Carefully control the amount of catalyst and the kneading time.
• Do not add more catalyst than necessary.
• Knead correctly and quickly to prevent the silicone from beginning to vulcanize during handling.
• Incorrect handling during the initial stage of vulcanization may cause lumps and a poorly finished orthosis that tears easily.
• Do not use latex gloves, as they may affect the catalysis of the silicones.

WARNINGS:

• Keep out of reach of children.
• If any adverse reaction or irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a specialist.

STORAGE:

• Preferably store in its original packaging.
• Keep in a cool, dry and adequately ventilated place.
• Storage temperature: between 5 and 30 ºC.
