Histoire de Laboratorios Herbitas

Founded in 1987, in its beginnings this family business specialized in the distribution had a catalogue with few articles up to more 4000 references currently available. 
 
 With the arrival of the new millennial, the business wanted to take advantage of its knowledge and experience in the sector, so it began to develop and manufacture its own products and materials. Thanks to this, the first factory was built to be able to control all the processes from the idea to the final product.
 
 We have built our own fabric in Spain thanks to this initiative. Thus, we control all development and production processes: from the initial idea to its commercialization.
 
 Since years ago, Laboratorios Herbitas S.L. has created a great variety of products and brands for the care’s necessity of the feet.   All of this with the aim of meeting the professional customer requirements and giving solutions; increasing the presence in the local and international retail channel. Nowadays, we have a catalogue with more than 4000 references.
 
 The factory, specialized in silicone products and gel polymers, is located in Spain as our operational headquarters and logistic center. Moreover, there manages the development of the R+D (Research and Development) of all divisions of the company. We are looking for new materials and solutions, in collaboration with the most outstanding professionals in the sector, to contribute significant improvements compared with the products in the market.

Laboratorios Herbitas S.L. pursuits the control of the network to obtain better quality and process conditions. We develop materials and products through our R&D (Research and Development) department and manufacture them from our own factory.
 
 Laboratorios Herbitas S.L. focuses on the products’ distribution for Orthotics, Podiatry and Pharmacy in more than 50 countries. Our company has been a principal referent in the clinical Podiatry field, being the leader in Spain, Portugal and South America.
 
 The company has been creating a wide list of own brands and products during the last decade; getting a stronger presence both at the professional level and in the retail channel. All of this competing with prestige international brands.

The business has created a training-course area and a showroom where instructs periodical courses to medical professionals or students.  This reinforces the actions that have already been carried out in Colleges and universities in a national and international level with professionals of recognized prestige who come as brand ambassadors.

Own Manufacture

 

 The factory was created to control the product development area like the process of manufacturing at all levels. Herbitas left to rely on external manufacturers, which lacked control in the manufacturing process and in the workers conditions. These changes make the company to be more competitive in saving costs and faster when it comes to serve our clients.
 
 Our facilities are at the front position of the injection technology of gel polymers and silicones. Robotics, automation or precision collationamong others make up the latest generation machinery of our facilities, providing our range with the best quality and precision.
 
 This factory is specialized in silicone products, gel polymers and cosmetics for the feet care. The company’s vision is to expand the type of products and materials in the near future looking forward to the demands of an increasingly competitive and changing market.

 Professional Podiatry division has customers in more than 50 countries, being at the top of Spain, Portugal and South America, while the retail division is growing to be in new markets each day.

The company works normally with independent institutes and laboratories to maintain the quality standards in all our products. During 2018, we have made toxicity examinations and dermal irritation to still be in the vanguard and increase the engagement to our customers.

Energy Saving

During last years has been creating electric saving programmes and power consumption improvements through the replacement of conventional lights for LED lights. Moreover, zone motion sensors have being introduced and lights management sensors to regulate the necessary power according to the time of the day. All this permits up to 45% of the saving energy consumption since the start of the programme.
 
  New facilities where the logistic centre and the central headquarter are; have the latest systems generation and the ones used that permit to generate our own energy and improve the energy efficiency.

 


Recycling



According to the type of the business’ activity, it manages a large volume of deliveries and outputs of materials. Therefore, this movement generates a large amount of cardboard daily. For almost 10 years ago, our company have suggested that the recycling rate in our facilities reached 100% and a protocol of action was created to follow. The worker’s recommendations improved the process to make today something daily.
 
 We are adhered to Ecoembalajes España S.A. (Ecoembes), a non-profit society whose social purpose is the design and organization of an Integrated Management System (IMS). The IMS is aimed at the selective collection and recovery of packaging waste for subsequent treatment, recycling and valorisation

 

 

 

Sponsorship

 

 Our community collaborate with Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Amor en Acción. This NGO help people who are in unfavourable economic situations in countries like Paraguay, Burkina Faso or Laos. The cooperants provide health care, education, gender violence prevention or to the development of the agricultural holding.
 
 The business carries out continually training courses and workshops with our commercial partners in Spain and in foreign countries to make known our products and the correct use between the professionals and schools.
