Giulia Silicone - Extra Soft

GIULIA EXTRA-SOFT PODIATRY SILICONE

Giulia Silicone is an extra-soft podiatry silicone with a very low hardness (2-3 Shore A), specially designed for the manufacture of palliative orthoses and orthoplasties in podiatry and orthopaedics.

It comes in the form of a viscous silicone paste that vulcanises at room temperature through a polycondensation reaction. When the Master-Cat catalyst is added, the silicone hardens to form an elastic and durable material.

Its formulation stands out for containing medical-grade oil, an antimicrobial agent and hydroxyprolysilane. Thanks to its extra-soft hardness and elasticity, it is particularly suitable for making very soft and elastic palliative orthoses designed to reduce pain.

It is also easy to work with, does not tear or stick to the hands during handling. It has a pink colour and can be mixed with other silicones. The elasticity of the orthosis increases after a few days.

FEATURES:

COMPOSITION:

• Silicone polymer.
• Medical-grade oil.
• Polydimethylsiloxane.
• Colouring agent.
• Strawberry fragrance.
• Antioxidant.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

1. Take the required amount of silicone and add the Master-Cat catalyst. The recommended ratio is 100 parts silicone to 5 parts catalyst.
2. Mix quickly by hand or with a spatula for approximately 30 seconds, until the product begins to harden.
3. Apply the mixture to the desired area and shape the orthosis.
4. The working time before hardening is approximately 5 minutes.

Master-Cat note: Add 2 lines of catalyst, each approximately the length of the little finger.

PRECAUTIONS:

• Control the amount of catalyst and kneading time.
• Do not add more catalyst than necessary.
• Knead thoroughly and quickly to prevent the silicone from starting to vulcanise during handling.
• Continuing to mix once vulcanisation has begun may cause lumps to form, resulting in a poorly finished orthosis that is more prone to tearing.
