AESCULAP FENOL HF266R PLIERS CLEANING AND CARE:
Initial recommendations:
Perform a visual and mechanical check on new surgical instruments.
Visible dirt should be removed as soon as possible to prevent residue from drying.
Avoid long waiting times for cleaning and disinfection of the instrument.
Preliminary manual cleaning:
Initially, it should be hand-washed with neutral soap.
In the operating room, visible dirt should be removed as soon as possible to avoid encrustation, which can lead to corrosion.
Long waiting times for reprocessing should be avoided (<1h).
Dry cleaning is preferable as medical products can corrode if submerged in solutions for prolonged periods.
If dry cleaning is insufficient, wash with cold water (< 40ºC), including cavities, grooves, and hard-to-reach holes that should be washed with pressurized water. Avoid leaving unwashed areas. A soft-bristle plastic brush may be used.
Thoroughly dry with a lint-free absorbent cloth or compressed air.
Cleaning and disinfection:
Immerse the products in a solution of distilled water with an appropriate disinfectant in an ultrasonic bath or container.
Follow the instructions established by the disinfectant manufacturer for the wash program, temperature, and time.
Clean instruments with movable joints in an open position or by moving the joints to avoid "shadow areas." Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for dismantling detachable instruments.
Secure instruments with a minimum gap in the cleaning container and avoid overlapping to prevent damage from collisions.
After the disinfection program, rinse the products thoroughly with cold distilled water, paying particular attention to cavities, grooves, and hard-to-reach holes, if possible, with pressurized water.
Thoroughly dry with a lint-free absorbent cloth or compressed air.
Lubrication:
Use Sterilit Protector Instrument (ref. 13.859.1 and 13.859.2) to protect the instrument.
Attach the provided white plastic tube with the spray and apply the aerosol oil directly to the joint area or hard-to-reach areas.
Open and close the instrument several times to distribute the oil evenly and remove excess oil with a lint-free cloth. The instrument will then be sterilized, as the oil film is steam-permeable. It will act as a lubricant and anticorrosive without leaving marks on the instruments.
Sterilization:
Sterilize products considering national requirements.
Sterilize products in suitable sterilization packaging.
