The Pelite is a material made from EVA copolymers (Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate), one of the thermoplastics most commonly used in the manufacture of plantar orthoses.
It is indicated both for the manufacture of corrective and functional insoles. Higher hardness provides a stronger corrective effect, while lower hardness offers greater comfort.
It is a very lightweight, washable material with low water absorption, easy to cut, bond and thermoform, offering good dimensional stability and great versatility in orthopedic and podiatric applications.
INDICATIONS:
Professional use.
Manufacture of standard insoles.
Lining of orthoses and podiatric applications.
COMPOSITION: EVA copolymer (Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate) processed by compression.
FEATURES:
Material with low compressibility (the thicker it is, the less compliant).
Surface smooth, soft and comfortable.
Lightweight and stable.
Easy to cut, glue and thermoform.
Sheet in skin colour.
Approximate dimensions:90 x 90 cm.
Thickness: According to selected reference: 2, 3, 5 or 10 mm.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Density: 0.14 – 0.20 g/cm³.
Hardness: 35 – 45 Shore A.
Compression set (72 h, 23 °C, 50 %): 21 – 31 % deformation.
Elongation at break: 170 – 270 %.
Tensile strength: 1.4 – 2.0 MPa.
Thermoformable: 80 °C – 120 °C.
Shrinkage: 0.0 – 2.0 %.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
Select the appropriate thickness and cut to the desired shape.
Heat between 80 °C and 120 °C and mould for 1 to 8 minutes depending on temperature and thickness.
It can also be used without heat by cutting and bonding with contact adhesive.
