  • The instrument must be cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized by the clinician before first use and after each use.
  • Check for proper functioning and perfect condition before using the product.

CLEANING AND CARE:

Initial Recommendations:

  • Perform a visual and mechanical check of the new surgical instruments.
  • Visible dirt should be removed as soon as possible to prevent residues from drying.
  • Avoid long waiting times for cleaning and disinfecting the instruments.

Preliminary manual cleaning:

  • Initially, it must be hand washed with mild soap.
  • In the operating room, the most apparent dirt must be removed as soon as possible to avoid encrustation that can lead to corrosion.
  • Long waiting times for reprocessing should be avoided (<1h).
  • Dry cleaning is preferable as medical devices can corrode if immersed for a long time in solutions.
  • If the dry process is insufficient, it will be necessary to wash them with cold water (<40ºC), including the cavities, grooves, and difficult-to-access holes that must be washed with pressurized water. Avoid leaving unwashed areas. You can use a soft plastic brush.
  • Dry thoroughly with an absorbent cloth that leaves no residue or with compressed air.

Cleaning and disinfection:

  • Immerse the products in a solution of distilled water with an appropriate disinfectant in an ultrasonic bath or tank.
  • Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the disinfectant product to select the washing program, temperature, and time.
  • Clean instruments with movable joints in the open position or move the joints to avoid "shadow areas". Follow the manufacturer's instructions for disassembling removable instruments.
  • The instruments must be placed with minimal separation in the cleaning container and avoid overlapping them to prevent damage from collisions.
  • At the end of the disinfection program, wash the products thoroughly with plenty of cold distilled water, insisting thoroughly on the cavities, grooves, and difficult-to-access holes of the instrument, if possible with pressurized water.
  • Dry thoroughly with an absorbent cloth that leaves no residue or with compressed air.

Lubrication:

  • Use Sterilit Instrumental Protector (ref. 13.859.1 and 13.859.2) to protect the instruments.
  • Attach the white plastic tube provided with the spray and apply the aerosol oil directly to the joint area or hard-to-reach areas.
  • Open and close the instrument several times to evenly distribute the oil and remove excess oil with a lint-free cloth. Subsequently, proceed to sterilize the instruments as the oil film is permeable to steam. It will act as a lubricant and anticorrosive without leaving stains on the instruments.

Sterilization:

  • Sterilization of products taking into account the corresponding national requirements.
  • Product sterilization must be carried out in a suitable sterilization container.
