DARCO MECRON PRE-CUT TAPE

DARCO Mecron Pre-cut Tape is a pre-cut elastic adhesive tape designed to provide dynamic joint stabilisation in both conservative treatments and during postoperative recovery following surgical procedures.

It is particularly suitable for the postoperative stabilisation of toes following open or minimally invasive procedures, such as osteotomies, claw or hammer toe corrections and other podiatric surgical procedures.

Thanks to its elasticity and approximately 60% stretchability, it allows customised applications adapted to the patient's anatomical needs. Its design promotes dynamic stabilisation without constriction or compression and enables early functional postoperative treatment.

The strips are supplied pre-cut and ready for immediate use, making application easier and allowing their position to be adjusted during placement. They are made from cotton and Spandex, with an acrylic adhesive, and are latex-free.

Available in two sizes and colours, they come in a convenient resealable zip bag, containing 8 strips in the white version and 4 strips in the blue version.

INDICATIONS:

• Dynamic stabilisation of joints in the fingers, toes, wrist and ankle.
• Conservative treatment for traction-based straightening and joint stabilisation.
• Postoperative stabilisation following open foot surgery.
• Stabilisation following minimally invasive foot surgery.
• Akin-type osteotomies, in combination with the MA Spacer (MIS Akin Spacer) toe separator.
• Chevron osteotomies.
• ODMM: distal metatarsal metaphyseal osteotomy.
• Correction of claw toes or hammer toes.
• Reconstruction of curved toes.
• Dorsiflexion of the fifth toe in cases of digitus quintus varus.
• Correction of hallux valgus, according to the manufacturer's indications.
• Stabilisation following tenotomies.

SIZES AND REFERENCES:

MODE OF ACTION:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

1. Assess the indication: determine the purpose of the application beforehand and check that the patient tolerates the material.
2. Prepare the area: clean the skin with warm water and soap, then dry it completely before applying the tape.
3. Remove hair if necessary: use an electric shaver. Do not wet-shave with a razor blade.
4. Prepare the tape: avoid touching the adhesive layer to preserve its adhesive properties.
5. Apply the tape: position the strip according to the indicated technique, ensuring that the ends adhere without tension.
6. Check the application: apply using the outer surface of the thumb and check that the tape does not wrinkle or curl.
7. Activate the adhesive: gently rub the tape after application to improve adhesion and extend its wear time.
8. Remove the tape: hold the surrounding skin with one hand while peeling off the strip to reduce discomfort and prevent irritation.

• Extensive skin lesions.
• Open wounds with a risk of infection.

PRECAUTIONS:
