POVIDONE-IODINE 10%

Herbitas Povidone-Iodine is an antiseptic biocide for healthy skin, specially formulated for human hygiene and preoperative preparation.
Contains povidone-iodine 10% (free iodine 1%), acting as a powerful bactericide and fungicide (yeasticide). Its liquid formula, with a neutral odor and dark brown color, ensures effective antiseptic action without irritating the skin.

Complies with EN 1500, EN 1650, and EN 12791 standards, ensuring antimicrobial efficacy against bacteria, fungi, and yeasts.
Reusable product under professional supervision, non-flammable and with an acidic pH (1.5–4.0).
For external use only, sterilizable by radiation, suitable for medical and podiatric environments.

INDICATIONS FOR USE

• Preoperative disinfection of healthy skin before surgery or invasive procedures.
• General antisepsis on localized skin areas (hands, arms, feet, etc.).
• Pre- and post-procedure hygiene in medical, podiatric, and aesthetic clinics.
• Disinfection prior to injections, dressings, or extractions.
• Routine antiseptic cleaning in patients at infection risk.
• Professional medical or podiatric use only. External use. Do not apply to open wounds or mucous membranes.

COMPOSITION

• Povidone-iodine (10%) → equivalent to 1% free iodine
• Purified water
• Sodium lauryl sulfate
• Disodium phosphate dodecahydrate
  

ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY

• Bactericidal and fungicidal (yeasticidal)
• Free from Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, Candida albicans, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa
• Complies with EN 1500, EN 1650, and EN 12791
  

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

• Apply 3 ml of the solution to the area to be treated.
• Rub for 1 minute.
• Allow to air dry.
• Rinse thoroughly with water if necessary.
• Do not apply more than 15 times per day. For external use only.

PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS:

• Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
• Do not use on newborns, breastfeeding women, or during the perinatal period.
• Discontinue use in case of irritation or allergy.
• Do not ingest.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not pour into the environment (soil or water).
• Empty containers must be disposed of as hazardous waste.
• In case of eye contact: rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical advice or contact a poison control center (Tel. 91 562 04 20).
  

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to iodine or iodinated compounds.

SIDE EFFECTS:
In rare cases, may cause skin irritation or allergic reaction. Discontinue use if this occurs.

• Store below 30 °C.
• Keep in a cool, dry place.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight.
