SSA90 ABSORBABLE POLYGLYCOLIC ACID SUTURE

The SSA90 absorbable polyglycolic acid suture is a sterile synthetic braided multifilament suture, designed for the approximation of soft tissues and surgical ligatures.

It is composed of glycolic acid polymer (PGA) and coated with a mixture of caprolactone and calcium stearate, which improves its handling, glide and knot security.

It offers a minimal tissue reaction and a progressive absorption by hydrolysis between 60 and 90 days, maintaining approximately 65% of its tensile strength at 2 weeks and more than 40% at 3 weeks.

It is indicated for general surgical use, including ophthalmic procedures, but is not recommended in cardiovascular or neurological surgery.

INDICATIONS:

  • Soft tissue closure.
  • Surgical ligatures.
