Prontosan Wound Decontaminating Gel

 PRONTOSAN® GEL 

Prontosan® Gel is an advanced hydrogel indicated for the cleaning, decontamination, and hydration of complex wounds. Thanks to its formula containing betaine, an effective surfactant, and polyhexanide, a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent, it works by eliminating biofilm, debris, and bacteria that hinder healing.

This gel is especially indicated for difficult wounds such as pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, second-degree burns, traumatic injuries, and areas that are hard to access such as cavities or cracks. It is also useful for the care of stomas, probe openings, and catheters.

It comes in a sterile 30 ml container, easy to apply directly to the wound or on dressings. It maintains a moist environment suitable for optimal healing, without causing pain or irritation.

INDICATIONS FOR USE:

• Acute wounds: lacerations, abrasions, puncture wounds, surgical wounds
• Chronic wounds: pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, vascular ulcers
• Thermal burns (1st and 2nd degree), chemical burns, and radiation burns
• Stomas, probe entry points, PEG/PEJ tubes, and catheters
• Cavities and deep or hard-to-reach wounds

• 0.1% Undecylenamidopropyl betaine
• 0.1% Polyhexanide
• Glycerol, purified water, hydroxyethylcellulose

CLASSIFICATION: Class III medical device.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

• Compatible with other moist wound healing dressings (polyurethane foam dressings, silicone dressings, ionic silver, hydrofibers, alginates...)
• Non-cytotoxic, non-irritating, non-sensitizing, painless
• High tissue tolerance
• Latex-free

PRESENTATION: sterile plastic tube of 30 ml or 250 ml.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

• Clean the area before application
• Apply a 3–5 mm layer over the wound or fill cavities
• Can also be used to soak gauze or dressings
• Repeat with each dressing change

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

• Known allergy to any of the components
• Do not use in the eyes, middle/inner ear, central nervous system, meninges, or hyaline cartilage
• Do not mix with soaps, oils, or other topical products

WARNINGS:

• For external use only. Do not ingest
• Once opened, use within 8 weeks
• Always read the instructions before use
• Keep out of reach of children

Store at room temperature, protected from direct sunlight.
