STERILE SURGICAL SPONGES

Hemostatic Action Sponges are sterile surgical sponges made of hydrolyzed collagen (gelatin) and lyophilized, designed to provide rapid and effective hemostasis. Their porous structure facilitates the absorption of liquids up to 40-50 times their weight, promoting platelet aggregation and fibrin formation. Biocompatible, non-toxic, and non-immunogenic, they are fully resorbed by the body within less than four weeks.

These sponges differ from other hemostatic products due to their ability to stabilize blood clots and accelerate healing in surgical procedures, especially in dental, maxillofacial surgery, and other interventions with a risk of bleeding.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

HOW TO USE

• Remove the sponge using a sterile technique.
• Cut to the required size.
• Apply dry or saturated with sterile saline solution.
• For dry applications: place directly on the bleeding area.
• Apply moderate pressure until hemostasis is achieved.
• For applications with saline solution: immerse the sponge in the solution and remove.
• Compress before placing it on the wound.
• Ensure the sponge returns to its original size before application.
