ADERER PLIERS FOR BENDING WIRES AND FOLDS

The Dimeda Aderer Pliers are designed for the precise bending of Kirschner wires and stainless steel wires, commonly used in orthopedic and trauma surgery to stabilize and align bone fragments during fractures or small bone operations.

PRESENTATION:

INDICATIONS FOR USE:

  • Bending of Kirschner wires.
  • Bending of surgical wires in orthopedics.
  • Shaping and folding of fine wires or rods.
  • For use only by qualified medical or technical personnel.

INITIAL RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • Before first use, perform a visual and mechanical inspection of the instrument.
  • Manually wash with water and neutral soap, removing visible residues before disinfection.
  • Avoid dirt drying or encrusting, as it may cause corrosion.
  • Do not leave the instrument wet after use.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTION:

  • Manual cleaning: remove visible residues with a soft-bristle brush and cold water.
  • Disinfection: immerse in an appropriate disinfectant solution (ultrasonic bath recommended).
  • Rinse with pressurized distilled water and dry with a lint-free cloth or compressed air.
  • Avoid abrasive or metallic materials during washing.
  • Do not mix with instruments made of other materials.

LUBRICATION:

  • Before sterilization, apply anticorrosive protective oil (Ref. 13.859.1 or 13.859.2) to joints and moving parts.
  • Open and close the pliers several times to distribute lubricant evenly and remove any excess.


STERILIZATION:

  • Steam autoclave: 15 minutes at 121 °C and 110 kPa or 3 minutes at 134 °C and 210 kPa.
  • Ensure proper cleaning and drying beforehand.
  • Do not force ratchets closed during sterilization.

PRECAUTIONS:

  • Do not use the instrument for purposes other than indicated.
  • Do not use abrasive products or metal brushes.
  • Discard instruments that are damaged, rusted, or cracked.
  • Keep out of reach of children.


STORAGE:

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Ensure instruments are completely dry before storage.
